Summers for House

I believe over the last couple of legislative sessions our leaders
have taken their eyes off the ball as far as making strides
forward in public education. During the last 25 years our state
leadership, both Democrats and Republicans, recognized that
public education was the backbone of our democracy and should
be the catalyst for moving this state forward. Somehow,
over the last several years we have lost our way with
distracting debates about using tax money for private school
vouchers.

When elected, I intend to demand from our government a
renewed focus on improving education in South Carolina. We
must improve graduation rates, keep good teachers in our
classrooms, improve early childhood education opportunities,
and give our parents more freedom to choose which Public
School their children can attend. Our families and children in
District #75 expect and deserve nothing less.
